Chennai based leading model Priya Anand is going to make her debut through a Tamil film titled Vaamanan. Subramanyapuram fame Jai is her hero and Lakshmi Rai is to appear in a parallel role equal to that of Priya Anand.

R.Ravichandiran's Film Valley Corporation is producing the film. This is the second film by the company and the company is planning to produce the film in a big way like their first yet to be released film Ayirathil Oruvan.

Ahmed, a one time assistant of Director Kadhir has made his debut as a director through the film. He is handling the story, dialogues and screen play too. Santhanam, Sampath and Urvasi are also in the cast.

The plot is very familiar to cinema and the tinsel world. A young guy comes to Chennai with the dreams of becoming a popular hero in the film industry. How he achieved the same amidst the troubles and differences of opinion inside his family is the substance of the movie.

While leading cinematographer Aravind Krishna is to handle the camera and Yuvan Shankar Raja to set the tunes for the film.

The shooting will start at the end of this month in Chennai and later will be shifted to Coimbatore and Chalakudi locations. Some important scenes and songs will be shot in Singapore, South Africa and New Zealand.

Ramya (Kannada: ರಮ್ಯ), born Divya Spandana, is a popular actress in Kannada and Tamil films.

Birth and Childhood:

Ramya was born in Bangalore, Karnataka on November 29, 1981. She studied at St. Hilda's school in Ooty, Tamil Nadu. She then earned her collegiate at St. Joseph's College of Commerce, Bangalore. Ramya participated in stage shows and dance rehearsals from her grade school days. Along with her mother tongue Kannada, she is able to read and write Tamil.


Career:

Ramya stepped into the film industry with Kannada movie Abhi starring against Puneet Rajkumar. Being her latest hit Arasu along with Puneet Rajkumar and Meera Jasmine released in early 2007 has done well again. She is considered to be "golden girl" in Kannada film industry as she has the success rate of close to 90% in her career.

The movie "Amrithadhare" shows her acting in one of her recent films directed by Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar. Her debut film in Kollywood had bombed at the boxoffice.

Her breakthrough in Tamil came through her film Polladhavan (2007 film) where she acted against Dhanush. The film was considered a dark horse success , being released during the Deepavali period. Rajinikanth was all praises for the entire crew of Polladhavan [1].

She also worked in Gautham Menon's Varanam Aayiram opposite Surya. She changed her screen name to Divya which is believed to have brought her more luck in getting hi-fling roles and she has also dubbed in her own voice for Varanam Aayiram.

She is currently shooting for SingamPuli with actor Jeeva in Tamil and Kicha-Hucha with actor Sudeep in Kannada. Her latest movie MussangeMathu with Sudeep was a big hit.

Early life:

Meera Jasmine was born on February 15, 1984 in Kuttappuzha, Thiruvalla, Pathanamthitta in Kerala. Born as Jasmine Mary Joseph to Joseph and Aleyamma, a christian by birth, she completed her schooling in , Seventh Day Adventist English Medium High School (KG to Fourth), Thekkemala, Mar Thoma Residential School (Fifth standard to +2), Thiruvalla. She completed her schooling in March,2000.She had enrolled for a BSC Program (Zoology) at Assumption College,Changancherrya nd completed nearly 3 months in this program, when she was spotted by director Blessy (who was then an assistant director to director Lohitadas) and offered a role in "Soothradharan".





Career:!

Malayalam:

Meera made her debut in the Malayalam film Soothradharan in 2001 directed by Lohithadas opposite Dileep. Though the film flopped, she received offers from other languages. She has starred in a dozen Malayalam films in her six-year career. Her second film was 'Gramaphone', directed by ace director Kamal, alongside Navya Nair, opposite Dileep. Her role as a Jewish girl was appreciated by Malayalam cine goers. Her third movie was Swapnakkoodu, a romantic comedy alongside Prithviraj, Kunchako Boban, Jayasurya, and Bhavana under director Kamal. Her performance was appreciated and the movie was success at the box office. among the five main characters, one who scored the most was again Meera. She got real attention in Malayalam cinema with the movie Kasthoorimann directed by her mentor Lohithadas. She was able to enact both comedy and sentimental scenes with equal fervor. She received her first film fare award for her performance in Kasthoorimann. The film was also a success in box office running for 100 days. The same year, she acted in T V Chandran's much acclaimed Paadam Onnu: Oru Vilapam. She played a 15-year-old Muslim girl who was forced to marry an older man. She not only received state award, but also National Award for Best actress and many other awards. Then came another soul-stirring performance as Raziya in Perumazhakkalam alongside Kavya Madhavan. In the movie 'Achuvinte Amma'(2005), she has enacted the young, adorable character Achu, with extraordinary ease that she seemed to live the character, instead of acting. She then paired with Mohanlal in Rasathanthram(2006). She played as a guy in the half and the movie went on to became a block buster. Her next movie, Vinodayathra was again with Sathyan Anthikkad who repeated her in his 3rd consecutive movie. She then starred in critically acclaimed movie Ore Kadal. The movie was showcased in various film festivals and won several awards. Her performance as an innocent middle class woman won praise from various corners. Her next movie was Calcutta News with Dileep. Blessy, who introduced her to film field, was the director of Calcutta News.


Tamil:
Meera's Tamil film entry made her a well-known star in the South. The success of Tamil film Run and 'Bala'(2002) have given her the chance to work with popular actors of the Tamil industry. She won the Film fare Best Female debut actress award for Run. The success of the films led her to work with famed directors like Mani Ratnam in Aayitha Ezhuthu and SS Stanley in Mercury Pookkal. Meera has acted in more than 15 Tamil films.


Telugu and Kannada:
Meera Jasmine became famous in Telugu film industry with her first film (dubbed from Tamil) "Run". She has not only showed her presence in the Telugu films in 2004 with Ammayi Bagundi and Gudumba Shankar but also entered Kannada cinema by co-starring with Puneet Rajkumar in 'Maurya'. Her latest Kannada film 'Arrasu' is also a hit.

Vimala Raman is a well known Bharatanatyam dancer as well as actress in Kollywood and Malayalam Film Industry. She was born and brought up in Sydney. She started practicing Bharatanatyam at the age of five. In 2004 she won Miss India Australia title as well as Miss India Australia cyberqueen title.

Her first Malayalam movie was Time with Suresh Gopi. Her first movie was Poi in Tamil. She paired with Ajmal Ameer in Pranayakalam. She also acted with Megastar Mammooty in Nasrani and with Dileep in Romeo. She appeared in College Kumaran with Superstar Mohanlal and in Calcutta News with Dileep. Vimala Raman attended the Natanalaya Dance Academy based in Sydney, Australia. She was taught dance under the tutelage of Jayalakshmi Kandiah.
